Installing the service may fail with the problem “Could not
locate the file ‘ServiceAESS.dat’”.

Conditions
/ Symptoms
When attempting to install the “AESS Main Service” or “AESS
RealTime Service”, the installation fails with the problem
“Could not locate the file”. The file listed is commonly
“ServiceAESS.dat” or “ServiceAESSRT.dat”.
Issue /
Cause
This can be caused if you do not have full access to the
registry on the machine where you initially install the
software. The software records its application path in the
‘local machine’ section of the registration where most Microsoft
Windows application paths are stored. If you do not have proper
permissions to the registry on the machine, the application path
information may be not written correctly. In this case the
service installation can not locate the service files properly.
Work Around
/ Fix
Run the main software installation again under an account that
has full access to the registry on the machine. |
