Cut
your migration time down by 70% or more...
Are you planning on moving or migrating some of your users to
another server or to Exchange 2000? If you are, why not

In a recent customer
migration from an old Exchange 5.5 server to a new one located
in head office, Attachment Executive Server Side was used to cut
migration time down from days to just hours.
With initial trial migrations averaging migration of data
from the remote office to the main office coming up with figures
such as 2.5 Megabytes per minute, migrating a 16 Gigabyte
information store would have taken roughly 4 and a half days at

attachments that were 14 days or older to a local Windows NT
server and then migrate the e-mail remaining. The result
was a database reduced in size by more than 70% and migration
time suitable for the proposed weekend. Just one example
of how one user (a senior executive) had their mailbox reduced
from 1.8 Gigabytes in size down to 300 Megabytes by moving their
attachments to a file server without any impact to the user.
(Hyperlinks were placed in the messages so the user could still
easily access the attachments as they had done before cleanup).
For this one user alone, migration time was reduced from roughly
12 hours and 15 minutes to just 2 hours and 15 minutes.
With Attachment Executive Server Side's lightening fast
processing time, clean up of the mailbox only took about 1 hour
and 20 minutes to reduce the mailbox from 1.8 Gigabytes to 0.3
Gigabytes. Overall migration time was manageable, users
were able to access their mail by Monday morning, administrative
staff appreciated the reduced Exchange Server backup and
recovery times resulting from a considerably small database and
management had their migration goals met in a timely fashion.
All in all, over 32 Gigabytes of Exchange data which
originally needed to be migrated was reduced to a migration of
less than 8 Gigabytes total, and migration time was reduced by
over 70%.
