Summary

This article demonstrates how to reset a Directory Assistant Maintenance Rule so that the next time it is run all users in the rule that fail any conditions will have the first action performed on them.  This is useful if want to make sure that every user in the rule has the action performed.

More Information

To reset the action intervals for users in a Maintenance Rule, follow these steps:

- Make a note of the name of the Maintenance Rule that you want to reset.
- On the server where the "DA Service" has been installed, open the "MADSDA" file folder share.  If you do not know which server it is installed on, select the "DA Service" object to find out the name of the server.  The share can be reached at "\\<server name>\MADSDA".  Example: "\\SERVERA\MADSDA".
- Open the subfolder named "Maintenance" that is found inside the share.
- Locate two items that have the same name as your Maintenance Rule.  One will be a file folder.  The other will be a data file.  For example, if your Maintenance Rule is named "Check Users", you should see a file folder named "Check Users" and a data file named "Check Users.dat".  If you can not find a file folder with the correct name, it means that the rule has already been reset.
- Delete the file folder with the name of your rule if it exists.  This file folder contains the settings for users already processed by the Maintenance Rule.  Do not delete the corresponding data file.  If you delete the data file you will lose your Maintenance Rule and have to create it again.
