Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) |
| Question: Can
Directory Assistant be set up for Zero Administration so users' changes
occur automatically? |
|
Answer:
Yes. Depending on which type of policy a user is assigned,
different levels of authorization can be set. |
|
Question: Can I set default values for fields such as department? In
which I want users to select from a list of choices? |
|
Answer:
Yes. Any field can be set to have "restricted" values. This means
you can stipulate which entries are permitted and the users are
presented with a drop down box to select from. |
|
Question: Can I specify which fields users can change? |
|
Answer:
Yes. You can have multiple configurations for different types of
users. Each configuration will allow you to specify which fields
can be modified. |
|
Question: If I change my mind about what fields I want a user to
change, can I do this easily? |
|
Answer:
Yes. You can simply create a new configuration or change the
existing one, unlike directory assistant 4.0,
NO update to the client is required. The next time the user
goes to use directory assistant it will find the configuration and
the user's add-in or web interface will reflect the changes. |
