Directory Assistant

What makes Directory Assistant the BEST Solution?

Flexibility!

Giving users a way to update their own directory information is one thing.  There are a number of programs out there that will let you do that.  First question is...Is it flexible enough to fit your company?  Directory Assistant uses the details template from your Exchange Site.  If you have taken the time to customize Exchange, why not take advantage of it and use a product like Directory Assistant that uses that customization as its foundation for what users can see and update.

Doing the work for you!  Keeping that Directory Up To Date!

How do you ensure all users keep their directory information up to date?  Giving users a way to update their information doesn't necessarily mean they will.  How will you know that users are actually using the software and the information is in fact up to date?  Directory Assistant has maintenance rules that you define to ensure that users update their information.  Its purpose is to remind users, and deal with those users that don't.  No need for additional intervention.  Your time is precious.  Let Directory Assistant do the work for you, and keep your directory up to date!

Taking Action...

So now Directory Assistant is reminding your users to keep their directory information current.  But what about those difficult or stubborn users that claim they just don't have time?  Directory Assistant's maintenance rules can deal with them.  Single or multiple reminders...escalations to their managers...notify helpdesk...even disable their NT/AD account to force them to comply.  Give Directory Assistant the power to deal with the users in whatever way you see fit and reduce your frustration and wasted time.

Not Yet Convinced We Have the BEST Solution?????

Tighten Network Security...

Believe it or not, many companies have NT accounts that are still active even though the people are no longer employed.  After all, the IT department isn't Human Resources.  Dealing with difficult users that won't take the time to make sure their directory information is one thing...but have you considered disabling their NT account if they don't respond within a given time frame?  It's one sure way to get them to update their information, but it's also a great security feature if the user actually no longer works for the company.  NT accounts can automatically be disabled through the use of the maintenance rules if the user doesn't update their directory information or confirm it is up to date.
