Question: How do I configure my distribution lists? |
|
Answer: Using your MADSolutions D.L. Manager MMC, you select
the distribution list you want to set up, right click on it and
select New Configuration. Follow along through the wizard, select
the criteria you want and then click okay. That's all there is to
it. |
| Question: Do I need to install the
MADSolutions D.L. Manager Service to use D. L. Manager? |
| Answer: Yes and No. To configure a distribution
list you only need is the D. L. Manager MMC. You can right click any
distribution with a configuration and select "Update Now" to update the
distribution list immediately. However, to set the distribution lists
to automatically update on a schedule, the D.L. Manager Service must be
installed. |

Question: Should I use D. L. Manager to maintain huge
distribution lists of 5000 or 6000 people? |
|
Answer: Yes and No. D. L. Manager should be used, however,
depending on your architecture it might be more logical for you to
create a number of smaller distribution lists that are updated by D.
L. Manager and then use another distribution list that contains all
the smaller ones. Generally speaking if people on the distribution
list are going to be all over the place with respect to your
servers, it may be beneficial to split your distribution lists up
into smaller lists. If all users are within the same site on one or
two servers, then it may make sense to have D. L. Manager add the
users individually. Moreover, D.L. Manager can optimize the
expansion server used and reduce your network traffic while increase
mail delivery time. |

Question: Is D.L. Manager compatible with Exchange Server
2007 |

Answer: Yes. D.L. Manager,
while still a 32-bit application, is designed to be compatible with
