What is Directory Mate? |
| Directory Mate
consists of two (2) components. There is a wizard based import/export
tool for your Windows 2000 or 2003 Active Directory and a command line
utility for scheduling imports and exports.
Directory Mate was designed for the purpose of quickly creating, deleting, moving and modifying Active
Directory Objects and their attributes. Directory Mate can assist in
creating, modifying and deleting users, contacts, groups and computers. |

Exporting Active Directory
Objects |
| Exporting object attributes
is quick and easy with Directory Mate 2003. When running the wizard,
select Export and choose the object type. Once you've selected the
object type, select the attributes you'd like to export and file
location to save the export file to. Its as easy as that. 
Directory Mate allows you to easily locate
the Active Directory attributes that you want to export.
Export results can be view in Microsoft
Excel, allowing you to process the exported information in any way you
require. |

Modifying Active Directory
Objects |
| Modifying objects with
Directory Mate 2003 is just as easy as exporting them. Simply add a
"mode" column to your csv file with the word "Modify" in each entry and
then enter the information that you want to import for each object.
In this example we are updating the
department information for each user and enabling their user accounts by
setting accountDisabled to "No". For more detailed information on
modifying attributes please refer to the Directory Mate documentation.
After you have prepared your import
file simply run Directory Mate, select the option to Import and then
select your Import file.

Creating Active Directory
Objects and Users |
| The process to create new
Active Directory Objects with Directory Mate is similar to modifying
them. The differences are that the mode column must list the word
"Create". More detailed information about creating new users can be
found in the Directory Mate documentation.
