Microsoft Outlook may warn that messages contain potentially
unsafe attachments after attachments have been removed.
Applies To:
E-mail
Management Server 2006
Conditions
/ Symptoms
If the ‘keep paperclip icon’ feature is turned on, Microsoft
Outlook may report in messages that have had attachments
removed, “Outlook blocked access to the following potentially
unsafe attachments:”. The attachments listed will have the file
extension “.lnk”.
Issue /
Cause
In order to keep paperclip icons on messages after attachments
have been moved, E-mail Management Server places very
small shortcut link files in the messages. These link (“.lnk”)
files are the same as shortcuts you might create on your
desktop.
Work Around
/ Fix
No work around or fix is required. This is normal behavior. |
