Error message "404 - Not Found" when accessing a hyperlink to an attachment moved to a Microsoft IIS server or when using the action to reattach files.

Conditions / Symptoms

When accessing an existing file through a hyperlink or when using the action to reattach files you received the error message "404 - Not Found" from the Microsoft IIS Server.

Issue / Cause

The extension of the file does not have a recognized MIME type on the Microsoft IIS Server and as a result it returns a 404 error whenever the file is accessed.
