DL Manager - Architectures

An Active Directory tool that gives you unfettered control over your Exchange distribution lists.

The architecture for DL Manager is rather simple. For each Active Directory domain you have, you should have an instance of DL Manager installed.
Utilizing DL Manager on Small Business Server (SBS2003, SBS2008 or SBS2011), installing the software with the MMC on the server is recommended. The DL Manager service should also be installed on your Small Business Server. If utilizing SBS2008 or later, you will need to install the MAPI/CDO components from Microsoft to deploy our Active Directory tool. This is not necessary for SBS2003.
In environments with more than one server, the easiest and most simple architecture of DL Manager is to install the software on a file server or web server. In this configuration, the MMC console and DL Manager service are installed on the server and a small share is created for DL Manager to house data related to its configuration.
The architecture of DL Manager may be split to install the software and MMC on a terminal server or administrative workstation and the DL Manager services on a file server. A small share is created on the File server where DL Manager can house data related to its configuration, simplifying email maintenance.
